About me
Hello and a very warm welcome to my little corner of the internet! If you’ve come this far, it’s likely you’re seeking some additional English tuition and support for your child. I have surplus experience in the world of English, both teaching in schools around the UK and tutoring students globally. To give you a rough idea of my global tutoring experience, I have taught students in the UK, China, UAE, India and Europe.

My Aim
As an English teacher, my love for words and the power of language runs deep. Language is more than just a means of communication, it’s a superpower! The ability to speak eloquently, write effectively, and communicate with clarity are not just academic skills; they’re life skills that open doors, forge connections, and empower us to navigate the world with confidence.
My mission is to inspire students to fall in love with the beauty of literature in all its forms: books, poetry, characters, and narratives that illuminate the human experience. Literature is transformative. It shapes who we are, builds empathy, and helps us uncover profound truths about ourselves and the world around us.
I want to plant the seeds of a lifelong love for literature in your child. With care and nurturing, I aim to grow that passion so it flourishes, making books a constant companion throughout their lives. Whether it’s curling up with a novel on a rainy day or escaping into the pages of a book on a sunny beach, I want your child to find joy, solace, and inspiration in literature far beyond their school years.
As an English teacher, I want your child to appreciate the power of language and the enchantment of literature! By sparking curiosity and encouraging a deep appreciation for the written word, I hope to guide your child toward discovering the unparalleled magic of language and stories- gifts that will stay with them forever.

Online communities
Building Thriving Online Communities
Driven by my passion for English and my commitment to supporting parents, and colleagues, I have successfully created and nurtured several vibrant online communities over the years. Each serves a unique purpose, bringing together like-minded individuals to share resources, seek support, and foster collaboration:
A Supportive Space for Parents
My English-focused Facebook group has grown into a thriving community of over 2,000 parents. It’s a space where parents can connect, share insights, and access resources to better support their children’s learning journey: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2071097339656446/
Maths and Science Directories
While I specialise in English, parents often ask for guidance in other subjects, such as maths and science. In response, I created dedicated directories to help them find the support they need.
Maths: www.mathsdirectory.co.uk Science: www.sciencedirectory.co.uk
Find a Qualified Tutor Facebook Group
This group, which connects parents with tutors across various subjects, has expanded to over 10,000 members. It serves as a trusted platform for parents and tutors to collaborate and ensure students get the tailored help they need: https://www.facebook.com/groups/810857092987367/
A Community for for fellow English Teachers- English Department
Recognising the value of peer support, I established a community specifically for English teachers. With over 31,000 registered users and 8,000 members in our FB group, this group is a dynamic hub for sharing resources, exchanging best practices, and fostering professional growth: www.englishdepartment.co.uk
These communities reflect my commitment to creating spaces where parents, educators, and tutors can connect, learn, and grow together. They are a testament to the power of collaboration in supporting students and enhancing education for all.

Testimonials
Take a look at some recent testimonials provided by the parents of our students.
“Dear Meera, I just wanted to say thank you - as we had some good news this week as Charlie has got into City of London Girls School - and she had to take an English and Maths test. Obviously your help really massively impacted on this - and we are absolutely thrilled and grateful that she got in at this point - so that she will start in year 9 in September. Many thanks again.”
“Dear Ms Vasudeva I would like to say thank you so much for the surprise parcel, that arrived today, my book! I am so excited to get started. I have also since the session to read 'Who let the Gods Out' on my own, without my mum asking me to.”
“Hi Meera, Hope you are well. It was so good to meet you too. I went away with my head buzzing with ideas. Infact Milan's comic template book arrived today and I know he'll love it. I think I've got a bit of renewed energy now. Hopefully we'll catch up in the new year. And I will email you Milan's pip result and paper as soon as I get them. Kind regards”
“Hi Meera just to let you know Reev has been accepted into merchant Taylor's senior school! We've just been told. We are very very pleased. Thank you for all your hard work with him.”
“Dear Meera, I just wanted to say thank you for your sessions which were taught by Wendy. She was absolutely brilliant. As a secondary MFL teacher myself, I was able to see how much Dilan could absorb through her online teaching and she was just fabulous. I wanted to convey my gratitude and say thank you for these great sessions. Best wishes,”
“Hi Meera, hope you are doing well. I wanted to inform you that Akshara received an offer from Henrietta Barnett school and we have happily accepted the offer as it was our first choice. Akshara has gained a lot from her English lessons with you in creative writing and comprehension, which has contributed immensely to her confidence and skillsets required for these exams. Thank you once again for all the support and feedback.”
“Hi Meera Apologies for not responding earlier, have been tied up with Aarya's music exams. Aarya had passed Buckinghamshire grammar school with 120 in English as standardised score. But unfortunately as we are out of catchment she is now on waiting list. The good news is she is offered academic scholarship at her current school- Royal Masonic school which we have accepted. I am very grateful to you and Wendy for helping her achieve this and hopefully her confidence will further grow.”
“Dear Meera, I just wanted to mention that Vivek did a really good job with a recent essay he did at school under test conditions. He scored 27/30. He was responding to 'An Inspector Calls'. I realise it's a small victory but definitely a good sign that he may be making some improvement. I don't think Vivek would have mentioned this to you. It took a lot of probing to find out. Typical teenager. I really appreciate everything you have done to help Vivek and continue to do.”
“Great. Thank you have a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for all your efforts, he seems to have found a new interest in English and is starting to enjoy it.”
“Dear Meera, Many thanks for today's creative writing session, and especially for sharing the learning points and slides which I can revisit in detail with Pranav. I apologise for not being able to attend due to work commitments but I have had so much positive feedback from Pranav and his grandfather. Thank you for taking the time to teach this topic area with so much enthusiasm and clarity. I would be very grateful if you could let me know if you have any further Masterclass sessions for year 5 students in the future, or any private tuition sessions Pranav could attend as I've never seen him so inspired before with his writing! Kind regards,”
“I wish there were more teachers like you who felt as passionate about supporting the year 11s. Certainly in given up on them and have voiced to the children that they are hoping for a second lockdown! school, it feels like a lot of the teachers have”
“Hi Meera Thanks for getting in touch Bea seemed to get a lot out of the lesson today. She was engaged and appeared to make progress. The things you were covering were similar to things she's been asked to do for school but having someone accountable to makes a big difference for her. I think it a really good step for her going forwards especially at this challenging time. Face to face, especially through the internet, seems to suit her way of working and learning. Thanks for asking!”
“Hi Meera Hope you are well. I have made the payment for next term for Suraya. She is really enjoying your classes and is finding them very inspirational. Wishing you a wonderful and restful festive break. Kind regards”
“Hi Meera, Thank you so much for the informative seminar. I found it very helpful as I did not study in this country and it is all new to me. I love your calm, reassuring manner and the pace was just right. My husband and I are considering tutoring for our y9 daughter possibly from next calendar year or next academic year (I would also like to give parents support a go myself but I have generally found that children work harder for their teachers than their parents...). She is doing really well at school but she wants to go to law school so it is important to get those top grades. I was wondering what your fees are and what your availability is like. Many thanks”
“Hi Meera, My husband and I attended your webinar in August regarding GCSE English preparation. It was a great session and your knowledge and guidance impressed us hugely! My daughter is currently in Year 11 at St Helens school in Northwood and we were seeking some support in English as we approach the exams next year. Do you offer one-to-one tutoring? Kindly advise. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards”
“Hello Meera, I just wanted to tell you how useful I find these literature sessions, especially because I didn't do very well in the mock. Mr Stewart does does a lot of language and I scored better than I expected in the mock. I would love it if you were continue doing literature masterclasses in the new year. I hope we can do some face to face group sessions in the summer term. Thank you again for your time. Best wishes,”
“Hi there, Maisy did fantastically well A star in lit and A in Lang. Many thanks!”
“Hi Meera I found the session incredibly useful with great signposting to additional material. I would be so helpful to have this level of info for all of my daughter's GCSE subjects. It was exceptional value for the price and I would happily recommend to others. Is it worth doing a long session for English Literature?”
