About me

Meera Vasudeva

Hello and a very warm welcome to my little corner of the internet! If you’ve come this far, it’s likely you’re seeking some additional English tuition and support for your child. I have surplus experience in the world of English, both teaching in schools around the UK and tutoring students globally. To give you a rough idea of my global tutoring experience, I have taught students in the UK, China, UAE, India and Europe.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature; a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in English and Drama; over 10 years of experience as a former head of English in London; over 10 years of experience as a GCSE English examiner for the AQA exam board and I am also trained to teach LAMDA.

Personal philosophy:

I believe that the subject of English is for life, not just for the classroom and exams. For me, the most exciting part of teaching English is the relevance of the subject beyond the classroom walls: your child’s ability to empathise with characters they meet; think critically about moral dilemmas in the literature they read, and articulate themselves in spoken and written English, are skills which will stay with them for life, and continue to benefit them far beyond their school years.

I want your child to be able to exceed their own potential and appreciate the power and beauty of language, books and poetry far beyond their school years.

In addition to educating children from 8-18, I also strongly believe in educating parents, so you too are equipped with the skills and knowledge to help your child succeed. I frequently hold parent talks and workshops, so that we can work together and strengthen the support your child receives.

Helping raise students’ grades and watch their confidence grow is my passion and I would be delighted to support you and your child.

There are a range of ways in which we can work together. I offer:
  • One to One Tuition: ’m already fully booked for next academic year (Sep ’23-July ’24), but why not get in touch anyway, as I can add your child to my waiting list.
  • Weekly Group Tuition: this is online and there are some face to face options in the Harrow (London) area.
  • GCSE Masterclasses: these often take place in the holiday periods and mostly online, but sometimes in person too- in venues around London.
  • Parent Workshops: I don’t just educate children. I believe in educating and empowering parents too. If as a parent, you understand the GCSE course requirements and what more you can do to support your child, then we can work together to increase your child’s chances of success in the subject.
